McCain referenced Trig, Sarah Palin’s child with down syndrome, to convey to voters that she understands the tribulations they go through in raising a special needs child. Was it correct of him to use her son in the debate?

I think it was,but I could see Liberals being uncomfortable with the subject.Especially considering the rather large percentage of them who believe she should have Aborted the child BECAUSE he has Downs Syndrome.

Considering it’s her granddaughter, not her baby, I’d say he was off a bit.
I believe that McCain can reference Trig in the debate, but I am assuming that Sarah Palin does not mind. However, it would be inappropriate if Obama mentions Trig first, mainly because that isn’t his running mate’s grandchild.
That whole thing is absurd. Any special needs baby requires intense attention from both parents as much as possible. She is an example of what NOT to do if you are a special needs mother. Dumb move to use that, since we don’t all buy it.

He’s a pathetic loser. AND he said autism, instead of downs syndrome.
He referenced him.. and wrongly so. He said autistic, and the child has Downs.
I think it was weak to say the least. I know kids with mental deficiencies are important in this country but I’ll be a cold hearted liberal…. war, health care, taxes, infrastructure, world esteem… it all seems much more important to me right now.
If you believe that Trig is Sarah’s child, then you believe Sarah’s story about having the baby.
Sarah claims that her water broke in Dallas Texas, yet she gave birth in Alaska.
No doctor in the world would tell a woman in labor to take a flight from Dallas to Anchorage (with a stop-over in Seattle), then drive to Wasilla.
This is an absurd story
