Yes, Obama is running against McCain, but the media is showing the similarities between Obama and Palin. I see nothing wrong with that method of explaining who Sarah Palin is. They can show comparisons between Lincoln and Kennedy, or the Yankees of today and the Yankees of 1927. Then when they are done, they can still point out the contrasts. That does not mean they will ever have to face each other, it just means there are similarities.
Palin’s stance is news because we have all heard about the presidential candidates for months, but until lately, most people, myself included, could not tell you the stance, let alone the job and party of Biden or Palin. Since they have only recently become parts of the presidential ticket, it is still news.

It is relevant since they are each part of a presidential ticket for which we can choose when voting.

It would be appalling if a paper had a special section called “Voter Guide,” and on the front page they listed side by side Obama and Palin, with Biden and McCain on the second page with just a few bullet points on each.

Here are the true answers to your questions:

1. Sarah Palin is not running individually against Barack Obama; McCain is running against Obama.

2. There are comparisions between Palin and Obama because they both have less years of experience they Biden and McCain. However, the Palin/Obama comparisons started when a high degree of criticism was launched against Palin, mostly because of her pro-life and pro-Constitution viewpoints. Because these viewpoints are at odds with liberal orthodoxy, most of the criticism has come from liberals. Conservatives and moderates have noticed that the same people who are against Palin (falsely claiming “lack of experience”) won’t even acknowledge Obama’s true “lack of experience”.

3. Yes, it should be Obama/McCain and Biden/Palin comparisons. Truthfully, all fairminded people will wait until the conventions are over and hear the candidates in the debates before making individual judgements on who’s experience and ideals will “serve, protect and defend the U.S. Constitution” but, as well all know, not all people are fair-minded and even-handed (so the smears go on).

If you listen to the media you would think so. Palin will have time to get up to speed on anything that she is inexperienced with. She will not be running the country unless something happens to McCain. Which based on his last medical info release isn’t very likely.

Palin seems to be a very smart woman and would not have a problem getting up to speed and she will have time to learn. However, Obama if elected will have to be experienced a lot faster. We wouldn’t want another bay of pig type incident. We are living in a much more dangerous world than it was 40 years ago.

there is no Comparison between her and B. HO “obama” she has been a Chief executive he has not. She has been a state champion in Basketball he is a wanna be. She is good looking he has big ears… LOL … sorry that was a cheap shot, but he really is not good looking for a guy.
Now the Comparisons should be between the tickets. and McCain/Palin kicks obama/ biden by miles.

REALLY! People - wake up - McCain is about to drop dead. He might not make it a year as president. That leaves this weirdo Palin as president of the United State. So yes - Obama is running really against Palin.

You thought Bush was a the very bottom of the barrel - Palin is even stranger and more stupid than Bush. But she is easily manipulated by the Big Oil which, of course, is the master of the republican party.

First of all, Obama is no comparison to McCain in the experience category.

Republicans are doing Obama a favor and comparing him to Gov. Palin. But guess what, Gov. Palin has 2 years of Executive experience to Obama’s zero.

So Obama can’t even compare to Gov. Palin either.

It is ashamed in such a favorable year for the Democrats that the Democrats have managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by nominating a loser.

Thats really true, but people are trying hard to express their hatred and lack of brains in new and exciting ways. I think she does help the ticket, and more than Biden did, but she isnt running for president.
