I read the articles about this, apparently she attends a church that distributes flyers for “praying away the gay”. Since she has made no bones about her support for her ultra conservative Christian stances on matters that could affect public policy, this has to be taken into account when deciding on a candidate.
(Unfortunately, I don’t have the links to those articles. Try it on Google or Yahoo, key words “Sarah Palin” and “homosexuality”.)
A bulletin published by the Wasilla Bible Church, where Palin has been a member for six years, promotes the Love Won Out conference with the flowery promise that attendees will “be encouraged by the power of God’s love and His desire to transform the lives of those impacted by homosexuality.” The conference is dedicated to training those in the ministry how to help homosexuals reject their sinful ways and embrace heterosexuality and ‘God’s love.’ Focus on the Family, the religious organization behind Love Won Out, is well-known for their work opposing equal rights for gays and ********.
Although Palin has not specifically spoken out about her feelings on the so-called ‘ex-gay’ movement, she has made her feelings about equal rights for gays and ******** crystal clear. “Sarah Palin is against recognizing our relationships, against domestic partner benefits, and against **** crimes laws. …The more we find out about her record, the more frightening her record becomes,” says Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese.
She hasn’t personally held such meetings. But, she attends a church that does. The program is called “Pray Away the ***.” I heard about it on either Chris Matthews’ “Hardball” or Keith Olberman’s show on MSNBC. I’m guessing if you went to the MSNBC site, you would find it in one of the transcripts there.
What is it about? Just what it sounds like. The church says that homos can turn straight by praying to God.
What do I think? The church is teaching falsehood. I haven’t heard Palin’s comments about the PAG program. However, she did tell Charlie Gibson of ABC that she “is not going to judge homosexuals.” He didn’t ask her about the PAG program.
she’s one of those American Jesus fanatics that wants to preach creationism alongside the science side of evolution in schools.
she believes in creationism when it comes to humans but, she believes in the slaughter of hunting when it comes to animals. she’s a proud member of the NRA as well as a ‘bitch’ in lipstick.
You heard wrong. Palin does not hold these meetings. Her church does. If the dems want to blast Palin because of her church holding these meetings, then the dems need to bring Rev. Wright back into the spotlight. It’s funny how when the vile that spewed from Wright’s mouth was in the media, everyone said, “It’s not Obama’s views, it’s only his pastor - there’s a big difference, and Obama doesn’t necessarily agree with everything Wright says” and yadda, yadda, yadda.
But, those same people are quick to judge Palin on what her church does! Palin has stated that she does not judge gays. That should be the end of it right there, but the democrats are in a panic and are trying their hardest to find something, ANYthing bad about Palin because they know she’s better than Obama.
Now, I don’t like Obama - but that’s because I disagree with his stance on many important issues. It’s not because I think his ****** pastor is pulling his strings (which may be the case, but that’s besides the point!), and if the democrats disagree with McCain, they need to find something better than this and McCain’s war injuries preventing him from being able to type!
This election is getting ugly (& funny) and I eagerly look forward to the debates - where Obama will have to discuss actual political issues! This ought to be great!!
Sarah Palin is an idiot. You are usually better off ignoring 99% of the stupid crap that comes out of her mouth. By her logic, every single American who is not white, straight, and Christian is sub-human. Sound familiar?

I don’t know about it, but I would be far from surprised to find out it is true.

Yeah
Her church wants to turn *** people straight
Not her personally. It’s something the church she attends is doing. What’s the big deal? Did you not know Bible views homosexuality as sin?
